Elon Musk Settles Unpaid Bakery Bill with a Side of Humble Pie
Elon Musk Saves the Day: Covers 4,000 Mini Pie Tab After Tesla's Last-Minute Order Cancellation
When Tesla pulled out of a last-minute order, Giving Pies bakery in San Jose faced a $2,000 (£1,500) loss. But thanks to Elon Musk's intervention, the bill is now settled.
Voahangy Rasetarinera, the bakery owner, expressed gratitude, saying, 'It's incredible, I'm blown away. I'm so grateful, it's amazing, people are amazing.' Tesla even placed a new order, although the bakery's newfound popularity made it too busy to take it on.
After Mr. Musk intervened on social media to resolve the issue, Ms. Rasetarinera responded to the situation.
"Upon learning about this," he wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), in response to a local news article regarding Tesla's canceled order, "I'll ensure the bakery is compensated. People should always be able to rely on Tesla giving its best."
Ms. Rasetarinera also explained why she had to decline Tesla's new request for 3,600 additional mini pies.
"Unfortunately, we're unable to fulfill their catering event because our inventory has been depleted due to the surge in business," she explained.
Even the mayor of San Jose joined the queue for a pie, noting that lines outside the bakery "wrapped around the block."
"It's heartwarming to witness our community rallying behind Voahangy and her small business after a recent setback," he remarked in a post on X.
"Make sure to visit The Giving Pies next time you're craving a scrumptious dessert and show your support for an outstanding local entrepreneur.
